The Application

What is Thai Massage?

Thai massage is the art of giving from two hands, "metta" or loving kindness from the heart. It is one of the oldest forms of massage found in the ancient Thai texts along with traditional Thai medicine. It is conceivable that Thai Massage was influenced by Chinese meridian lines in acupuncture and Chinese Tui Na Massage and also exposed to the spiritual traditions and influences of India through religion by adopting sanskirt spiritual names of the energy lines used in Thai massage called "sen sib". With these influences Thai massage brings penetrating massage and gentle yoga movements into a profound healing system. The practitioner guides the recipient through a series of dynamic stretches and rhythmic rocking. It is a complete wellness treatment that leaves the recipient feeling deeply nourished, relaxed, and filled with energy.

The Process

During the massage the giver massages in a meditative state with a mind that is serene, and calm concentrating on their breath and the receivers breath creating rhythmic movements that nurture peace and harmony between the pair. Thai massage should flow like the wind from one fluid sequence transitioning with smoothness to the next maintaining accurate pressure. At completion the giver is relaxed and the receiver is immersed in peace and tranquility yet energized.
